What is a whole house generator?
A whole house generator is a permanently installed backup power system that automatically takes over when utility power drops. It sits outside on a concrete pad, wired into your electrical panel through an automatic transfer switch (ATS), and runs on your home's existing natural gas or propane supply — so there's no fuel to haul, no cords to drag through the house, and no flipping switches in the dark.
When the grid fails, the generator senses the outage, starts within seconds, and powers the entire home: HVAC, well pump, refrigeration, lighting, electronics, EV chargers.
