We started Total Generator Pros because our parent company — Total Plumbing & Electric, a licensed Mooresville, NC contractor — kept getting the same call: "My power's been out for three days. Can you put in a generator?" Standby generators sit exactly where our trades overlap: gas line on one side, transfer switch and panel on the other.
Because we install what we sell, we know which units actually fit a real Carolina home, which transfer switches don't fight with utility meters, and which spec sheets oversell. That field knowledge is the reason we became a factory-authorized dealer for Generac, Cummins and Kohler instead of pushing a single line.
